IT IS NOW TIME TO PROTEST YOUR 2013 APPRAISED PROPERTY VALUE

IT IS NOW TIME – to protest your 2013 property tax appraisal.
File your protest between now and May 31, 2013. Both the Travis TCAD protest form (conveniently located on the back side of your appraisal notice) and the Williamson WCAD form include the following two reasons for protest:
– Value is over market
– Value is unequal compared to other properties
When filing your protest you need to check BOTH of them.
Don’t get mad and sound off about the tax rates (nothing to do with the appraisal district), just include a polite note asking for a copy of their “Evidence Package”, as well as a copy of their “Field Card” if they have one. YOU NEED TO KNOW WHAT THEY KNOW.
Make a note to call the appraisal district in about ten days to confirm they got your request for copies.
It looks like property market values are rising in many areas of Texas – this may be your last good chance to protest for some time.
